What Causes Fast Aging Of the Skin?

Effects of aging are easily observable on the skin. These include wrinkling, sagging and blemishes. Unlike before when skin aging was associated with older members of society, today it is also seen in young people. So what is causing the fast aging of people’s skin? Here are a few of the causes.

Unhealthy lifestyles are a leading cause of skin aging. People are increasingly engaging in unhealthy lifestyles such as smoking, excessive alcohol consumption and drug use. Although these might be seen as recreational activities, they are causing harm to the skin. This is through the introduction of harmful toxins in the body. In addition, they directly cause skin damage such as when one regularly injects drugs through the skin.

Pollution of the environment is directly and indirectly causing fast skin aging. Pollutants deposit toxins on the skin. This is either directly or through the food you consume. The toxins cause fast deteriorating and death of skin cells resulting in its aging.

Stress and lack of enough rest which come as a result of a busy lifestyle also contribute to the fast aging of the skin. People are busy concentrating on being successful at the expense of their body’s well being. These two conditions compromise the normal functioning of the body. As a result, the body’s cells cannot maintain their normal processes and gradually die out.

Consumption of fast foods and processed foods is also causing fast aging of the skin. These foods are laden with chemicals and toxins which are harmful to the body. When consumed, they play a major role in the aging of skin cells.

Finally, fast aging of the skin is caused by ingredients found in some skin care products. It has been found that some products people use today have ingredients like alcohol, which can cause side effects and thus aging of the skin. It is therefore important that you carefully select the skin care products you buy to ensure they don’t contain such ingredients.
